Spectral Units Analysis of Quadrangle H05?Hokusai on Mercury

MESSENGER mission data allowed the entire surface of Mercury to be mapped at various spatial scales, from both geological and compositional stand points. Here, we present a spectral analysis H05-Hokusai quadrangle, using acquired by Dual Imaging System-Wide Angle Camera. We defined suitable set parameters, such as reflectance slopes, study variation though definition units. The determination units permits infer physical properties processing several parameters simultaneously, instead more traditional approach interpreting each single parameter separately. identified 11 within H05, six large scale five localized include northern smooth plains Borealis Planitia. South-western H05 is characterized two widespread units, partially overlapping intercrater intermediate plains. Furthermore, found very corresponding low-reflectance blue material Rachmaninoff basin high-reflectance red Nathair Facula. investigated link between maps obtained GRS XRS, associate information some are correlated with Mg Al variations displayed in elemental maps. This implies that associated these mainly linked composition rather than terrain maturity and/or grain size effects.
